CLARE FINDLAY- INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES
How I work
Therapy with me isn’t about analysing you or giving you a list of things to fix.
It’s a conversation that develops over time. Something we build together.
I work in an integrative way, which means I draw from different approaches depending on what you need.
We might explore your thoughts, your body, your nervous system, your past experiences, or what’s happening in your life right now.
There’s no one-size-fits-all here.
A different kind of therapy – one that meets you where you are
What I can support you with
Therapy for anxiety and overwhelm
Support for burnout and chronic stress
Therapy for menopause and life transitions
Support for neurodiverse people and parents of neurodivergent children
Exploring identity, relationships and feeling “not quite yourself”
I’m a qualified psychotherapist, passionate about offering a supportive space to explore challenging times.
How therapy can help you feel more like yourself again
We all go through times in life that feel hard. Sometimes really hard.
And when you’re in it, it can feel confusing, overwhelming, or like you’ve somehow lost your footing.
That’s usually the point people start thinking about therapy.
Not because something is “wrong” with you.
But because something in your life is asking for attention.
Working with a therapist gives you a space that’s just yours.
No fixing. No judgement. No pressure to be anything other than how you actually feel.
It’s a place where you can start to make sense of things.
You might be dealing with anxiety that’s come out of nowhere.
Or burnout that’s left you exhausted and flat.
Maybe you’re going through menopause and everything feels like it’s shifting underneath you.
Or you’re a parent trying to understand and support a neurodivergent child while holding it all together yourself.
Sometimes it’s not even clear what the “problem” is.
You just know you don’t feel like yourself anymore.
That can show up as:
feeling constantly on edge or overwhelmed
reacting more strongly than you used to
going over the same thoughts or memories again and again
physical symptoms that don’t quite make sense
or a quiet sense that something isn’t right, even if life looks “fine” on the outside
Therapy helps you slow that down and really look at what’s going on underneath.
Together, we start to separate what’s actually yours from what you’ve learned to carry.
Old stories. Expectations. Ways of coping that made sense at the time but might not fit anymore.
And from there, something shifts.
You begin to understand yourself in a different way.
With more clarity. More compassion. More choice.
You don’t have to be in crisis to come to therapy

Why is this approach different to other therapy?
I believe we are made up of interconnected parts of mind, body and emotions. As well as talking, I use techniques to move towards a more embodied personal experience.
My approach is beneficial as it provides
An Improved Mind-Body Connection: Our bodies store emotions and experiences. Embodiment practices help you become aware of these physical sensations and how they relate to you.
Trauma Resolution: Trauma can often be stored in the body as physical tension or unexpressed emotions. Techniques like finding regulation in your breath, small movements, and somatic experiencing can help release these stored tensions, facilitating healing.
Increased Self-Awareness: By paying attention to your bodily sensations, you gain a deeper understanding of your emotions, reactions, and behaviors. This self-awareness is essential for change.
Improved Emotional Regulation: Together we will find practices that can help you regulate your nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety, and cultivate a greater sense of calm and well-being.
